Training & Ongoing Support

Buying a Gus’s Solar franchise does not mean we hand you a ladder and wish you luck. You don’t need to have touched a solar panel in your life. What you need is the willingness to run a business the way Gus Petrakis runs his: show up, be straight with people, and put your name on the work. We teach the rest. From your first week through your fiftieth install, you’ll have a training system, a playbook, and a phone number that reaches a real person who has done this before. The entire model is built so that someone with zero solar experience can open their doors and sell with confidence, because the operations behind you are already proven.

Initial Training

Your first weeks with us are spent learning what actually matters: how the equipment works, how we price a job, how we talk to a homeowner who’s been burned by a door-knocker, and how to run the books without surprises. We start with the fundamentals of solar itself, including panel types, inverter technology, battery storage, and monitoring. You’ll learn the differences between Tesla, Enphase, SolarEdge, SunPower, Panasonic, Qcells, REC, Canadian Solar, JinkoSolar, and FranklinWH, and why we choose one over another for a given roof or a given bill. Then we move into our quoting process, built off the customer’s actual utility bill and current export rates, not a brochure estimate. You’ll sit through the same math Gus uses when he tells someone whether solar makes sense or whether they should wait. We also cover the software you’ll use every day: the CRM, the scheduling tools, the monitoring dashboards, and the reporting you’ll need to run payroll and track jobs. Hiring, too. We walk you through how to find, vet, and keep the right kind of people, including background checks and uniform standards. And marketing, from the signage on your truck to the postcards that actually get read in small towns. By the time you leave initial training, you’ll understand why we say your bill is the blueprint, and you’ll be ready to sit across from a homeowner and tell them the truth.

Launch Support

Opening day is not a lonely one. We help you get your local presence squared away before your first customer calls: the published address, the local phone number that rings to a person, the license and insurance paperwork, the branded truck, the uniforms, and the local listings. Then we fire up the lead engine. We build your local marketing so people in your county find you when they search for solar, and we coach you through your first jobs from the quote to the final walkthrough. You are not practicing on paying customers. We stand next to you, on the phone and in person, while you learn to flash a roof penetration properly, supervise a crew, and read a monitoring report. The first jobs are where people burn a reputation, so we don’t let you go it alone. One of our most experienced people will be on site with you until you and Gus both agree you are ready. After that, he is still one call away.

Ongoing Support

  • Field coaching and technical support: when a roof throws you a curve, you call us. We walk you through it or send someone out. No ticket queues, no corporate escalation.
  • National brand campaigns and local marketing assets: we keep the Gus’s Solar name in front of homeowners so your local ads work harder, and we provide the creative, the copy, and the strategy.
  • Vendor relationships and pricing: we maintain the relationships with Tesla, Enphase, SolarEdge, SunPower, Panasonic, Qcells, REC, Canadian Solar, JinkoSolar, and FranklinWH so you get consistent supply and honest pricing.
  • Ongoing training on new equipment and incentives: solar changes fast, and when it does, we update the playbook and schedule a call. You’ll know about new battery tech and shifting export rates before your competitors do.
  • Technology and monitoring support: our monitoring setup means a dead panel is a call out to the customer, not a surprise on their bill. We teach you to watch the same dashboards Gus watches.
  • Peer calls and owner roundtables: you’re part of a network of owner-operators who share what worked, what failed, and what they’d do differently. No corporate overlords, just people with their names on their own buildings.

You’re Never Alone

Gus Petrakis answers his own phone. That applies to franchisees, too. Call (877) 550-6892 and talk to a person who has built this business from one truck to a real brand, or request the franchise info below.
